Planet Zoo is planned for release as a standalone PC title in autumn this year, but earlier this month I was invited to take a peep at the game in its pre-alpha stages. Like Planet Coaster, it's.
Originally posted by Becks:Hi there,Just curious if the game will have controller support like Jurassic World. Planet Coaster unfortunately never had a controller support. And please no comments about 'games like that should be played with keyboard and mouse', pleaseit cant be played witha controller. Just like Planet Coaster. Some thing the enourmously vast majority of people ont seem to understand is that games dont simply 'work' with controllers. You dont just 'add' controller suport. Console games have huge amounts of behind the scenes help in order to function well with pads.
Games are built from the ground up, every design and gameplay decision made in order to function on pads. This is a game that needs you to use a mouse and keyboard. Thats how its designed and built. Theres no controller support to be added because you couldnt play the game.Jurrasic World is a simplistic console game. Thats why it is on consoles. They made a gimped, striped out version of Planet Coaster that can be played on pads.
This game is not one of those. Originally posted by:it cant be played witha controller. Just like Planet Coaster.Unless you use the steam controller configuration (works with most controllers not just steam) as I suggested before. Planet Coaster can be played with one too.
It emulates a keyboard on a controller meaning it is always supported regardless of the game.Just make sure you bind the keys you need to a button. Using a button as a shift key to make every other button have more than one binding helps with the limited number. Try to make it something you can get used to and away you go.You can also use other peoples configurations as a base too, there are a few out there.
Either use them as they are or tweak it a bit so your comfortable with them.

Thrill visitors with iconic exhibits, develop your zoo with new research, and release new generations of your animals back into the wild. Your choices come alive in a world where animal welfare and conservation comes first. I suspect that many players will have an uneven time with Planet Zoo. At times, it's pretty straightforward and provides the player with plenty of feedback so they can improve their zoo. Other times, the game has you digging around in areas that are unnecessarily tough to figure out, with tutorials that barely touch on the feature (if at all).
The thing with Planet Zoo is that it is so charming and appealing that the fun parts outweigh the frustrating ones. It's not a perfect game in the genre, but it is one of the best ones you can play right now. Okay so what to begin with. Oh man this game is so great. I wont spoiler anything and I suggest not to look up any lists of animals because you will discover them alone and wont be dissapointed. Cheers from Poland Expand. As I write this review, my game has been stuck on the loading screen indefinitely to a zoo I had about 10 hours of time into. It's looking like the zoo is lost at this point. Planet Coaster wasn't anywhere this buggy when it launched.
Unfortunately it looks like Planet Zoo was rushed out the door so it could release right before the holiday season. It really needed another 3-4 months of development time to iron out all the problems in this game.
It very easily has the potential to be a 8/10 or even 9/10 game but losing my franchise zoo was the last straw for me. I can't justify spending hours of my time in a game that's so riddled with bugs and issues. I have a lot of respect for Frontier and their games, so I wish I could rate this higher. I will come back to it in a couple months and see if they've fixed the most glaring issues with the game and then possibly edit my review.
